About Flint

Founded in 2023, Flint is an AI-powered platform built for schools. In three years, we've partnered with hundreds of schools across the U.S. and internationally, supporting 750,000+ students.

We're a small, fast-moving team backed by top investors, and we're growing quickly.

The Role

We're looking for a contract video editor to support our growing video program. Today, that starts with founder-led content — our CEO records short-form videos talking to camera about AI in education, edtech, and what we're building at Flint — and we need someone to turn that raw footage into polished, scroll-stopping content for LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook.

Over time, the scope will expand. We're planning to move into higher-production videos, long-form YouTube content, and other formats as the program grows. We're looking for someone who can start with short-form editing and grow with us into more ambitious work.

You'll work directly with our marketing team and have a steady stream of content to edit each week. Here are a few examples of the content you'd be editing:

What You'll Do

  • Edit dozens of short-form videos per week from raw iPhone footage

  • Cut, trim, and reorder clips for pacing and impact — lead with hooks, keep it tight

  • Add captions and subtitles to every video

  • Overlay graphics, images, headlines, and on-screen text to reinforce key points (e.g., showing a LinkedIn comment being responded to, news headlines, data)

  • Clean up audio as needed (reduce echo, normalize levels)

  • Deliver videos formatted for multiple platforms (vertical for Reels/Shorts/TikTok, landscape or square as needed for LinkedIn/YouTube)

  • Turn around edits quickly — our posting cadence is daily, so responsiveness matters

  • Take feedback and coaching tips from our marketing lead to maintain a consistent visual style

Who You Are

  • You have a portfolio of short-form video edits — ideally founder-led, thought leadership, or creator content

  • You're fast. You can edit an <60 second short in under an hour

  • You have strong instincts for pacing, hooks, and what makes someone stop scrolling

  • You're comfortable with captioning, motion text, and basic motion graphics

  • You know the visual language of LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels — what performs on each platform

  • You're reliable and communicative. You hit deadlines and flag issues early

  • You edit in Premiere Pro and automate parts of your editing flow through the use of plugins

Nice to have

  • Experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience with long-form video editing (YouTube, mini-docs, interviews)

  • Experience editing content in the education, edtech, or B2B SaaS space

  • Familiarity with Buffer or similar social scheduling tools

  • Ability to suggest creative ideas — hooks, visual treatments, trending formats

Growth

This role starts with short-form, founder-led content — but our video ambitions are bigger. As the program matures, there will be opportunities to take on higher-production work, long-form content, and new formats. The right person will grow with us.

Compensation

$1,500/month for ongoing contract work. This is a contract role and does not include equity, health insurance, or other employee benefits.
